Except for East Asian students in the Canadian system. There is obviously something more than economic status that is going on. It is also a cultural thing. In households were education is a priority and expectations are higher, such as the East Asian culture, the gap is diminished.

There are plenty of low income Asian students who do not do so well in school. They just don’t live in Canada. Asian students who live in Canada are from a highly selected group of migrant families.

East Asian students who live in Canada are from typical East Asian families.
