Also, they want everyone addicted so they can start charging for use. Ways to do this, let's use Gemini as an example:

Make google search not great so people turn to AI
Make AI incredibly great for search and free, free, free. It finds you videos and things to buy, it's a great personal assistant.
If you use it too much in an unspecified amount, they'll shut off the button for AI
Charge a small amount at first, then increase until you're paying a monthly premium.
