A centralized union controlled by the government is not what I think most people would consider a “union”

I don’t understand how a union can advocate for its workers without that.
I have not read through your sources yet but thanks for including them, will go through them. Rising wages is more than I can say for the West, but I’d be careful to equate that with labor rights.
I don't want a discussion, but ask yourself.
What's the motivation for Western companies to promote or restrict rising wages? Historically, it was to placate the population so they dont look at the USSR and get funny ideas.
But now there's no USSR. Why are wages going up in China despite low inflation
Workers in the PRC absolutely have the right to strike, there are hundreds of cases a year.
