Trying to assign land to people permanently by nature is a bit of a red herring. They were definitely here before white people were, but then they replaced each other just as often as humans did anywhere, and the land was here before any of us. There's immigrants still coming, too, and that's okay.

An earlier Canada did a genocide and they're still clawing their way back from it, though - that's the relevant part.
