Getting a job without a car is very difficult.

[–] Damage@feddit.it 2 points 1 day ago

Is it? Most people I know dont drive to their job

[–] Notyou@sopuli.xyz 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Depends on where they live. They could probably get a bike and do a few jobs on apps (task rabbit, fiver, etc) to save for an e-bike and expand their area.

I know you can deliver food with e-bikes and if they live in a certain area it might be worth it.

There are a lot of factors though. Even if they look for remote work or online anything, there are so many traps and fake job postings that people get demotivated.

I feel gig work locks you into a cycle of poverty and dependence. It's not transferable experience and it usually locks you into car ownership. Not sustainable for getting into the workforce.

I feel this is true too. Idk how I would get out of it in this day and age.
