All hail the ability to emulate console games up to a certain generation well enough on even lower end hardware.

Ain't no other way to officially enjoy classics like Tony Hawk Pro Skater ( best on Dreamcast IMO ). Probably one of the greatest skater games, just behind a game like Skate 2. But maybe that's the nostalgia talking...

What about playing them on the original consoles? I've got a Game Cube and PS3 I still use occasionally, and a PS2 that I haven't tried in a long time but would give it 50/50 for just booting up if I hooked it up, plus some portion of the failure 50% includes the possibility of repairing it.

Original console, in most cases, is probably gonna be the better option IMO. But due to the rising cost of everything, games/consoles included, emulation is better from a purely price saving standpoint. I am lucky enough to have so many consoles, but I still emulate or use console softmods because I can't afford every game I want.

No disagreement there, I only responded because of the "ain't no other way" in your OP.

I remember spending hours watching my friends play that game.

I remembered my family having the ps1 version, but my brother said I was wrong because we apparently had the n64 version.

Either way, was definitely a defining game of my early childhood. Such a fun game. I was lucky enough to find it at a game store where I live. It was for some reason tucked away with the ps1 games and somehow just barely under $20USD before tax! A steal, if you ask me.
