I'm only one person but I used to donate regularly to the Democrats and their candidates. I've unsubscribed from anything and everything they had me subscribed to. I've changed my registration to Republican in hopes the Dems leave me alone. They lost to Trump. Twice. Not a very effective party and not worth my time or money.
Instead of signing up with the Republicans you should do what a lot of us have done and find a home with socialists and commies. At least they are actually fighting for something that will make your life materially better.
And if you want to join an org or just throw some donations to people who are doing the work to change things - your local area almost definitely has a DSA or PSL chapter you can join.
And since I'm doing my pitch, there is growing consensus in the DSA nationally to form a party or work more deliberately to usurp the power of the incumbent Democrats within their own party with socialists. If you want to see the party become more effective in time, that's the place to be imo. Some of the smartest people I've ever had the pleasure of working with here.
