Democratic leadership is now as unpopular with its base of voters as the GOP was in 2014, just a year before Trump took over the party, according to a new Pew Research poll. "These are conditions for real change," said progressive journalist David Sirota.

So you're saying they have a chance of taking the presidency?

Also ... is that a good thing or a bad thing? When it comes to American politics, I don't know anymore.

The parties are functionally identical at this point in their output - both are bad for everyone on the planet, unfortunately.

This is why IRV is so important. Kick both paries to the curb. The issues with the parties are different though.

The Republican party had its revolution but not in any substance. It is largely a movement focused on destruction and retribution fanned by opportunists and disinformation. It is about weakening an dividing the country and yes helping billionares. It is not about sane policy. What could go wrong?

Democrats. That Sanders revolution failed. So the party is stuck in the past. It needs a change. Leaders are too old and out of touch. With some major exceptions, they do not seem to be able to communicate with working class people and frankly do not seem to want to. Who knows where this is going.
