I am so used to the unsubscribe button not even doing anything that it is actually easier to simply add the sender to my block list.
Even in the US where customers rights are more of a suggestion than a set of laws, pulling that stuff should end them on your mail provider's shit list.
Over here they get fined, and I think it can be for every single mail sent after the unsubscribe action
