You hit a bit of a nerve there:
It is vastly easier to get launched into deep space than into the sun. Orbital mechanics is wierd.
I guess that's because you can use planets/stars gravity as sling?
Counter example: Jupiter was used as a slingshot for the ulysses probe exploring the sun.
Non sequitur, I used to watch Scott Manley when I had a YouTube problem. I love his accent. Especially the way he pronounced explore like explode. My internal voice does that now.
