This is why psychologists have rules against social activities with clients
And that's one of the reasons why I've never found a therapist I vibe with. How can you ever get to know and understand me if we can't ever meet up in a a casual, less structured environment?
(The other reason is that they're too quiet and reserved for me, when I need someone loud and obnoxious who tells it like it is.)
You need hard-bitten, hard-drinking maverick therapist who doesn’t play by the rules!

It’s a cop movie trope, like Dirty Harry. The humor comes from applying the same traits to a therapist.
