He's considered one of the greatest mathematicians alive, if not the best. Youngest to compete in the international math olympiad, bronze at age 10 in 1986, silver in 87, and gold in 88. Got his phd at 20, became the youngest full professor at 24 at UCLA, and was the youngest to earn the fields medal at 31.
Math prodigy that was taking university level classes at age 9. At some point said AI is like slightly-worse-than-decent math graduate.
