First economics comment that made me chuckle in a long time. A long, long time.
No human system is exempt from corruption.
If games taught me anything, it's that people love to exploit the shit out of anything, whether it be other people, money, religion, economics or politics.
It is difficult to stomach, but the sooner we start acknowledging the human problem, the sooner we would start fixing things.
