"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"

A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

haha this fuck_ai comm is there now too. but they somehow linked https://piefed.social/c/fuck_ai@lemmy.world instead of https://lemmy.world/c/fuck_ai for some reason.. perhaps they're not familiar with the fediverse.

I am familiar with this, but the ux and docs is lacking.

Can you tell me the name for the first type of link? And what's the second type of link?

If I'm browsing an article and I end up on the first type, is there any button I can click to get the second type?

I normally have to click a few times and manually edit the URL, which is just too much for most people. We need a single button that turns any post into the link to the "home" instance's link

idk too lol. perhaps someone could chime in if this is written as a question post somewhere.

i have issues with links in fediverse often, it seems mostly inherent to how activitypub works though i hope it can be fixed
