Canada is negotiating a contribution to the European Union’s €90 billion loan for Ukraine as Prime Minister Mark Carney seeks to strengthen ties with Europe and reduce his country’s dependence on the United States.

The Financial Times cited Yevropeiska Pravda, quoting people briefed on the discussions that Ottawa and Brussels hope to agree on the size of Canada’s contribution before the EU-Canada summit in Montreal in late October.

Carney has sought to build an alliance of liberal countries committed to a multilateral international order that has been disrupted by the policies of US President Donald Trump, according to the report. Supporting the Ukraine loan would allow Canada to further demonstrate its commitment to its European allies.

Can i ask you an honest question? How much of an opponents military needs to be SS-like before its ok for you to invade a country, claim its land, and kill its citzens?

If 1/1000 military members are nazis, can you invade them? 1/100? 1/10? At what point is it ok to target civilizans with drones?, blow up shopping centers, Blow up a maternity ward. "yes, officer, i orchestrated the rape of thousands of women, but 1/10 of their military remind me of the SS"

Let me ask you an honest question: there's been over 2 million casualties between both sides.

Is the motivation for your interest in this war to see revenge against an atrocity ordering mercenary commander who already died on a plane 3 years ago.

Or do you actually have any interest in seeing an end to the killing right now?

If you think the Ukrainian military are going to assassinate the Russian president or take Moscow, I'm sorry but that's a dream. If you think Putin's popularity is waning, it isn't. He's at like 83%.

This is a war of attrition that could go on for another 2 years at least. Hundreds of thousands or more could die.

This conflict needs diplomacy, Ukraine needs elections. And their military needs to get rid of the shitty Nazi medals, patches, tattoos and nationalist bullshit.

I made a personal declaration to Lemmy's moderators that I would have good faith conversations with other users. That doesn't include allowing personal disagreements fall into petty insult wars or ego trips. As such, I can't continue this communication exchange on this subject. Thank you for being honest that you cant answer a super simple question. Im really sadened that we cant find a common ground, like "rape is bad"

When asked three times to back up your statement that there is a specific amount of SS-like military which would permit a russia-like attack on a population, you chose to run away. I asked you the same question three times, and you were unable to say "Rape, murder, attacks on hospitals are always wrong", a simple statement of facts.

on another note, it is odd that a 15 day old account had make a "personal declaration to Lemmy’s moderators that I would have good faith conversations with other users.", as if you are a know bad actor...
