Who exactly is "our people" you're talking about.
And I bet I can show you how they were mostly aligned with nazi Germany. Again, no sympathy for them. FAFO

They didn't 'clash'.
One evil empire had only one aim, to destroy the Soviets and communism.
The other one beat them and their scummy collaborators at great cost and saved Europe, except for the part the opportunistic US vultures snatched for themselves.
