I was shocked when I couldn't switch back to Google Assistant today. I had tried out gemini for months a while back, and it does not control my phone well. I don't need advanced AI to remind me to move the laundry in two hours or remind me of my mother's birthday each year. Or to queue up a specific song on spotify. Also, advanced AI is cumbersome at those things. It's a real bummer.

I'm assuming this is a way to artificially inflate user numbers to shareholders.

This sucks.

It was nice for the last many years to be able to say "hey Google, remind me in one month to give the dogs their flea meds" and then sure as shit, one month later, it told me like magic with a ding and a notification.

I wonder what happened to all the scheduled reminders I had already for months to a year from now ... Gone, I guess.
