So apparently the math proof was exactly like this but just with the roles reversed. The dude working on the proof made the mistake of announcing the way he was solving the problem, and AI bros punched it into the AI instead to brute force him before he could finish.

Stand Up Maths did a video about it. He mentioned that all the steps getting to a solution are often important because they also lead to different discoveries and deeper understanding.
