It’s complicated...
I’m attracted to guys who are kind of “bad boys,” which probably makes me weird. I feel like no one would want to date someone like me.
I also feel like women rarely like guys who work in tech. Maybe they think we’re strange or not interesting enough.
For me it's not just for people working in "immoral" tech, I also don't date cops, landlords, people in the military or fossil fuels (might make exceptions for this one). For better or worse, whether you choose it or not, a job is a big part of someones life and it shapes who you are as a person.
I don't think it's that, it's more like the intrepid dedication to work is a turn off for most people.
