Another example of republicans hating their own base. Many of these data centers are being built in rural communities (in other words, very conservative areas), and AI data center opposition is a bipartisan issue on the voter side of things.
They're not that stupid, but they know what happens to the USA if The Big Bet© fails.
Can't let anything go on that could actually endanger it.
They are holding out for bail outs, that's all that is.
My employer's executives already called it a "too big to fail" technology.
That's alright though. Just more extraction of wealth from the poor and funneling it to the rich.
'Too big to fail' used to invoke anti trust actions for reasons.
