NATO overthrowing a legitimate government to install a fascist regime and potentially put nukes next to Russian border does in fact justify the reaction Russia had, which is the same reaction any other major power would have in the same situation. Russia did not choose war over diplomacy, and tried to do diplomacy for nearly a decade.
That's your analysis and not really what happened imho. There was no nuke in Ukraine.
Ukraine was not a fascism regime like Mussolini's, and even if you truly believed that they were, it would be very naive to believe that a dictator invaded Ukraine for the peoples and not their geopolitical games.
