It was that or let them work for the USSR and there was a cold war on!
The USSR also 'paperclipped' some Nazis for their scientific knowledge, do you know what they didn't do, that the US did? give them lives of luxury and:
Put a high ranking Nazi slaver in charge of a government agency(Wernher von Braun & NASA) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wernher_von_Braun#Slave_labor
Use a Nazi High Command General as their main source for the history of the eastern front(Franz Halder & the US Army Historical Division, the origin of the 'Clean Wehrmacht' and 'Soviet Human Wave attacks' myths)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franz_Halder#Post-war
Install a Nazi High Command General as Chairman of the military alliance they're the dominant power in(Adolf Heusinger & NATO)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adolf_Heusinger
For a few examples
That is nonsense.
The nazis would, and did stay on the friendly US/UK nazi side unless they were captured by the Soviets.
They could've also deservedly shot them in the face.
But unlike the USSR most of them got rehabilitated and whitewashed.
Maybe it was a bit too subtle, but I'm saying that was the justification within the Allies, not that I agree with it personally
They can use some scientists as a pragmatic choice but that doesn't excuse why they saved 1000's of zero value SS troops and low ranking nazi filth. Sometimes with great effort. There is no justification for that.
It can only be explained by them being aligned and protecting them.
