That's not the idea. The idea is "average people and lower don't care about music, so they put on any slop anyway. Also, people have distinct things they are good and bad at. You might have someone that's smart in a specific field, but because they are below average in their importance of music, they also won't give a shit either."

I’d think that the people who don’t care about music are not consuming much of it tho
They do put on background noise that isn't ambient music and have a free Spotify account or yt account for instead
I’ve heard that there are actually people who dislike all music, but I’ve never met one. Sounds sad tho
… I guess a lot of my friends are also musicians, so my anecdotal experience might not be “average” in that department
