The final fuck you is when they reverse mortgage the house and blow through their entire net worth, maybe leaving enough to cover the retirement home, before kicking the bucket and leaving their kids with fuck all.
My Silent Gen parents packed the entirety of their priceless antiquarian book collection, and spent a bundle sending it to their book dealer friends in the UK. All to keep their "ungrateful children" from getting it.
So, I totally understand the mindset you're coming from. But if they built their fortune through years of labor, are they not entitled to spend or give it as they see fit?
Government subsided single family home purchase programs, subsidized highways, gasoline half the cost compared to the developed world and retirement accounts. Yep all their own effort.
And they instituted those systems themselves? They can't act on policy that impacts them when their only input is a vote or two?
They did everything in their power to remove those social benefits by voting in conservatives who took everything away.
Sure, but having the right doesn't make it right. Know what I mean?
