No, you're right. He landslided the 20-30 age range that year because he went on their shows and focused on them

[–] Fredthefishlord@lemmy.blahaj.zone 10 points 4 days ago (1 children)

If by landslided you mean not even close to a landslide and that he lost that demographic, yeah sure

I guess you're right. We made such a hullabaloo about young podcast listeners leaning right I suppose that I lost the point.

The chart shows a lot of people from all ages who switched or just didn't turn out

Edit: should have linked the source on this random chart I pulled out my ass https://www.pewresearch.org/politics/2025/06/26/voting-patterns-in-the-2024-election/pp-2025-6-26_validated-voters_2-02/

It looks like the only age group that didn't increase support for Trump in 2024 compared to 2016 was 65+.

Am I reading that right?

[–] TheShamMirrors@lemmy.today 6 points 4 days ago (2 children)

You are correct. Which would make the only group who didn't sell us out the literal actual boomers. Well, not more than usual anyway

Ageist shit from a bigoted idiot.

[–] TheShamMirrors@lemmy.today 1 points 1 day ago

Heh hehhhh do more about it. It made me feel really good

In my experience Boomers are basically all cemented in their position, for example the single most feral leftie I've ever met was an old ass biker boomer who apparently hung out with the black Panthers as a teen and basically wanted to murder ever president since Johnson. Meanwhile I've never met a rightwing boomer who could have their mind changed regardless of whatever logic chain you use, I've had more conductive arguments with neo-nazis since at least they try to argue rather than effectively just going nuh-uh.

To be fair, whoever plotted the X axis of the chart did their very best to make it as unintuitive as possible.

You must mean social media grandpa.

Actually we were just talking about this further down. Somebody called me on my shit and it turns out +65 or older voted exactly the same as in 2020. From other age groups many switched sides to Maga except 18-30 who voted Maga instead of staying home like usual

You getting called out is a daily occurrence eh?

[–] TheShamMirrors@lemmy.today 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Yeah, buddy that's life. Some of us are pretty adjusted to it. You're taking it extra well though 😉

[–] chloroken@lemmy.ml -1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Oh no, are you losing the freakazoid shit because you're tired? Why aren't you writing some long-winded self report about how you hate women?

[–] TheShamMirrors@lemmy.today 1 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

I'll say literally anything to keep you replying to my posts. You're doing smashing PR for me and I kind of like wearing you around like a cocksleeve.

You should be more timely though, you're missing the initial rush of traffic every time

[–] chloroken@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

You're so tired of this, I can tell. I haven't even gotten warmed up yet

[–] TheShamMirrors@lemmy.today 1 points 1 day ago

Oh nooooo it's not even Lord Freezas final form! I hope she doesn't tickle my dragonballs
