Last month, Goodstein had temporarily blocked the state’s election commission from releasing its voter files to the Department of Justice, a decision that was openly criticized by Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon and later reversed by the state Supreme Court. The DOJ had sought the information, including names, addresses, driver’s license numbers, and social security numbers, of over three million registered voters as part of President Donald Trump’s March executive order restricting non-citizens from registering to vote. (Non-citizens are already not allowed to vote in federal and state elections.)

Also, capitalism has worked well enough for the billionaires that the vast majority of us can’t survive more than a month unemployed, and if we go commit to a guerrilla movement there’s gonna have to be some other kind of support system which isn’t there yet.

This has nothing to do with capitalism. Well, okay, the powers involved are but an oligarchy is just one of many paths to fascism.

Under a full blown managed economy and communism, do you think the government being rebelled against is going to make sure all those rebels have food and housing?

The biggest issue with the US that prevents things like people straight beating on riot cops in Korea is our culture of gun violence. There is no real room for escalation. You either have the "parade protest" where everyone is focused on their costumes and signs or a full blown riot that is going to be put down with "rubber bullets" with almost nothing in between. And even the former is just begging for a fat white kid to come unload on you.

Which makes it a lot harder to have any meaningful form of resistance until... shit gets REALLY REALLY bad.
