Im pretty buggered here, there's no other VPN that does two things I need, per app routing and port forwarding. There's lots that do the former and a few that do the latter, Proton is the only one that does both.

Correct me if my information is out of date, please.

Windscribe does port forwarding with a "pro" account. I'm not sure what per app routing is, is that more of a client capability?

Split tunneling, I'd forgotten the name earlier. It basically means that you can say only x browser and/or y game uses the vpn while everything else just uses the Internet normally.

Private internet access.

Their image is weird because they have the less SEO friendly name ever and all their promotion is made with AI nowadays. It wasn't a few years back and they've been around for a while. But they do both per app routing and port forwarding.

Also, encryption, volatile storage, privacy conscious, a good server spread, etc.

PIA is developed and operated by Israeli devs fwiw [0]. They were acquired in 2019 and a lot of people cancelled/moved on then because Kape has a horrible reputation.

Good to know. Had no idea.

I've been using them for almost a decade. They're cheap AF and serviceable.
