LinkedIn lunatics can't understand this. If your whole work culture revolves around who you network with and how your profile looks and not mutual respect then I am happy to work for someone else. Honestly the people that crave power the most are almost always the ones that should not be in charge of anything. I'm fortunate to have an awesome job and totally understand you might need to take a shit job just to get by but the lunatics don't understand that it doesn't have to be this way.
After spending a year unemployed, and finally getting reemployed through Linkedin social networking I had worked on for years previously, it is sadly a very powerful tool in the continued effort to "not starve to death" in the modern world.
One of the biggest reasons I’ve stuck with my current job for so long is that my direct manager is awesome. I can’t imagine how it would be if it was someone else.
I call that late stage capitalfeudalism.
