Canada needs a nuclear arsenal. If you are against this, you are against Canadian sovereignty.

Hey, don't make it two dimensional like that. That's how witch hunts happen.

One possible counterargument: Canada is single, medium-ish nation, but nuclear proliferation threatens humanity itself.

In a perfect world no one has nukes, unfortunately we don't live in that world so the next best thing is that every nation that wants to stay sovereign has nukes.

Canada needs better history education classes to prevent stupid comments on Lemmy. What happened in October 1962 when a sovereign country close to the USA tried to install nuclear weapons?

Anyone? The Cuban missile... Anyone? Anyone?

Trying this would trigger immediate annexation and the CAF would be done by brunch.
