Why are the Magats surprised about Ruffalo. Dude has been vocal about his views for a very long time already. Not to mention he's an actual activist. Or did they never see Dark Waters?

To be fair, people act in/as things they disagree with.
Hell, Disney makes a ton of "rebellion" themed works. They also fund arthouse films. Spoilers, disney are not the good guys, they're the empire.
