The US Department of Energy is allowing exemptions for nuclear reactor environmental reviews, alarming critics who called the policy "terrifying" and "truly crazy."

What are these regulations even for, anyway? It's not like there's been a nuclear meltdown in the US lately. Seriously, why have regulations for things that just don't happen anymore? /s
