And folks, if you haven’t de-googled yourself by now, well it’s past time.
Waylp that sucks for me. I knew about it and was lazy.
The best time to plant a tree was 30 years ago. The second best time is today.
I hear the 3rd best is tomorrow, and that fits with my energy levels
My tomorrow was 2 years ago. I'm realizing the longer I wait the more data they collect. And I'm not getting younger so my energy will go down with time.
Degoogle dereddit
What is the choice. Apple?
GrapheneOS, LineageOS, CalyxOS,...
It's still Android, but it's built off the open source base of Android.
Or real non-Android-based mobile Linux?
It's about time for the year of the Linux phone
How does the security of non-android mobile linux compare to GrapheneOS? Is there anything that gets even remotely close to Graphene in terms of fascist government agencies being unable to access the phone's contents if it's shut down or locked properly?
That's my next stop probably. Been on degoogled Android for many years and loved it. But vendors have started locking down their bootloaders (fuck you, Samsung!), Google has made moves to make life harder in Android for custom ROM devs and sidesloaders alike, so it's only a matter of time until they'll go full Hitler on it. So: Go, penguin, go!
