Now, yes. Then, no. I don't think anyone could have unified the MAGA right enough to win the election without Trump. If Trump hadn't ran, I could have seen a conservative winning a normal election. Not a last minute Trump replacement though
They would've put desantis on there. Far more competent IMO, could be potentially more dangerous.
Dems lost 2024 because people blamed them for inflation and they had terrible PR, and they fucking ran a status-quo candidate, almost any republican would've won.

Nah. It would have sparked an uptick in calls for one, but fundamentally we're dealing with fascists that don't actually believe in anything. Trump only exists as a reaffirmation of a dumbass's nihilism: He's the ultimate bait for anyone to actually care what happens in this country, at the behest of pure idiots to have the ability to call anyone who cares dumb. Sure, you have your capitalists, your true believer white christian nationalists, and your warmongers, but without the dumbasses it all falls apart.

Have you not been paying attention? We've been in that civil war for at least a decade, you just haven't been paying attention because there's nothing organized or official. But the right has been at war for years.
If you've been paying attention to what's happened since, it's hard to believe it could be worse.
It can always be worse, that said I agree, it would be extremely unlikely.
Better a dead martyr than a live president
One trump is gone it's all over. They have a very tenuous grasp on a cult. It's not going well for them. Everytime someone tried to coop it, it totally fails and when Trump tries to change the narrative, it fails. It's been falling apart a lot longer than it's worked. Once he's in the ground, it's over.

I seriously don't think so at all. His geriatric ass is the driving force behind the brain dead elderly voters. They think he's sexy you see. His rambling baby speak speaks to them. Without him I doubt they'd show up at all. Not that there's gonna be a next election in the U.S but still. The fascist republican party has this pretty much locked down at this point. Mussolini would've been proud.
