Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

And this is why I keep telling my trans homies they need to arm themselves and offering to take them shooting away from gun nuts and Republicans.

Armed minorities are harder to oppress.

[–] Glide@lemmy.ca 38 points 1 day ago (2 children)

And just like that, gun ownership required a mental health check, and transsexuality was labelled a mental health issue.

When the king cuts friend and foe

And every nation knows his wrath

When he's dead in 20 years

We'll be here, and they'll be back

When we're all hung out to dry

By our saviour technocrats

It won't matter if you're neocon or MAGA Democrat

[–] Madison420@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

Good luck finding a definition that doesn't illegalize all gender affirming care like dick pills which I imagine is something they cannot do without.

[–] whiwake@lemmy.cafe 35 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Gun lovers are gonna back the trans people, right???

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

"Lover" is maybe too strong a term, but as a gun owner I totally have my Trans homies backs.

[–] whiwake@lemmy.cafe 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I mostly meant those Republican gun owners who would fight for a convicted felon to have a gun. I’m guessing they will have no problem taking guns away from trans people. This is just the GOP Testing water to see how many guns they can take before there is a revolt. If they do it slow enough they can probably collect them all

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Well, we saw how they reacted when Hunter was charged, right?

"Oh, we didn't mean YOU."

[–] Saljid@lemmy.world 1 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Same day they fight the oppressive regime

[–] whiwake@lemmy.cafe 1 points 19 hours ago

Ahh, but oppression is subjective

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 30 points 1 day ago

Looks like they are afraid. Good.

[–] MushuChupacabra@lemmy.world 23 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Heads up NRA!

The Trump regime is trying to reduce gun sales!

[–] BigBenis@lemmy.world 18 points 1 day ago

Not to worry, I'm sure the crowd who loves to scream, "The right to bear arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" any time gun control is being discussed will be strongly opposed to this too. Right...?

[–] halferect@lemmy.world 8 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

Better buy now and get comfortable with your gun because they are coming for you, Noone is gonna protect you except yourself.

[–] WizardofFrobozz@lemmy.ca 5 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

Americans will 100% let themselves be stuffed into the unmarked vans before they’ll lift a finger.

[–] hperrin@lemmy.ca 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They absolutely love the second amendment, except when people they don’t like use it. (Same with all the other amendments, and the Constitution in general.)

Spoiler alert: they hate the Constitution.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 day ago

In group the law protects but doesn't bind, out group the law binds but doesn't protect

[–] oxysis@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 23 hours ago

And just like that another step closer to me either driving myself to the border and leaving everything behind or to well…

Never wanted a gun but if they try this I'll provide one to the cause

[–] BlameTheAntifa@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

I am going to guess the “shall not be infringed” people will conveniently not show up for this.

I'm sure the NRA will be fighting this tooth and nail /s

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Hate to say I called it... but, yeah. :(

"But Justice Department leadership is seriously considering whether it can use its rulemaking authority to follow on to Trump’s determination to bar military service by transgender people and declare that people who are transgender are mentally ill and can lose their Second Amendment rights to possess firearms, according to one Justice official."

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Make guns illegal for everyone. That oughtta do it.

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

That is a horrible idea at the worst possible time. Unless you mean they should and expect that to cause the citizenry to rise up?

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It was sarcasm. 🤦‍♂️

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Ahhh, didn't see it. My bad.

@jordanlund There's never a 2nd Amendment absolutist around when ya need one.

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 1 points 1 day ago

But I got lots of hammers at home! Ban that beacho!
