I have a childhood friend who legitimately inherited a house from a relative they didn't even know about. I admit to being kind of jealous but to their credit they admit its a totally unfair stroke of luck.
Finical stability and wealth is very luck based in the US.
I'd say it's pretty true in the rest of the world as well unfortunately. At least wealth.

At least in the US it's possible to get a re-roll of the luck dice. In places with a rigid caste system you're stuck.

I don't remember any of my relatives who weren't chosen by me, didn't have their blueprints partially provided by me, and weren't a major part of my childhood.
There was a short time where my baby cousins and I connected on video games each Christmas but now they show up with their partners and are too cool to hang out.
They may one day realize video games being played together are cool too
The reverse as well: who is that old guy (my dad) who seems to have aged a decade in the last year and looks far more like his father than he ever used to? Seriously I walked in the door and thought somehow that my Grandfather was back among the living.
Guy who used to be my baby cousin who now has a mustache and cut his long hair told me he was worried about my Dad because he did exactly this and vamping with "hey, fella! hey buddy, how you been?" until he figured it out.
It’s weird that they all have moustaches now too. I’d say the fashion has come around again, except they were never cool in the first place.
We're going back to hipster era dynamics of putting effort into not looking cool is how to look cool.
But the hipsters put enormous amounts of effort into their look, which became incredibly regimented. By the end of that, bars were like a theme park where normies came to be made cocktails by bartenders with identical flannel shirts, tattoos, drainpipe jeans and twirly moustaches.

When we moved to Florida, my friend's new kid was stumbling around learning to walk in a playpen. Fast forward, "Who the fuck is this 6'-tall monstrosity?!"
His older brother was 5 when I met him. Fast forward, "So, uh, you're some kind of full-grown man now, somehow?"
Got my kids for Christmas today. My 12-yo daughter, 13 next month, is taller than my wife. I, uh, wut?
Stop talking nonsense. My kids are all still little and I am not old. No idea why my back is aching, some other young person (like me) must have hit me.
Meet an ex-classmate. I didn't recognize the poor girl, I was working in her house. Holy fuck did she get tall and hot, but I didn't really even look at her much.
If I knew, I'd at least ask how she is doing.
