This is just a lazy sexism boomer joke. This isn't a meme.
Back when we were painting our house, I disagreed with my wife about one of the colors.
It's a Victorian house. We were doing a Forest Green, and a mint green, and I wanted to include burgundy. However she chose plum.
As soon as we saw it on the house, she realized the burgundy would have been better.
We just lived with it.
We're about 10 years late for repainting, and the paint has faded so much the greens look blue. I don't know when we'll be able to do it again. The painter we used was very, very good, but if I correct for inflation, hiring him again today would cost over $40,000.
Painting a wall is not difficult. I cannot fathom spending even a fraction of that to have someone paint! You need $50 in tools, a drop sheet, a steady hand, and patience.
That is true, but some people man or woman have awful manual skills, some other value their time more than the money for having a skilled painter do it …
It's a three story brick Victorian, using the different colors to accent different parts of the exterior. $50 dollars wouldn't get you up to the trim under the roof.
You get what you pay for. It was freshly painted when we bought it, and the paint started falling off almost as soon as we moved in.
Back when we got it painted we got estimates from 13 different companies. Lowest estimate back then was $9000. We asked everyone how long they guaranteed their work for. 12 companies said you can't guarantee paint jobs because sun and weather can cause them to fail.
The remaining guy was the most expensive, but he guaranteed his work for 8 years. His paint job lasted more than 15 years before it started to wear out.
Of course, it's almost been 30 years now, and it's in pretty bad shape. I wish I had the money to fix it up, but we also raised three kids and put them through college in between.
@Mickey7 Its quite simple, keeping all the walls white. If I ever leave that flat I do not need to paint the walls white again.
Sure if they are dirty I still need to do that but it's much easier than covering up some color.

Just had the house exterior painted. I negotiated the deal with the painting company. As soon as a color needed to be picked, I left. Always let her pick whatever color she wants.

I never painted the exterior but as we are living for rent this is nothing in our responsibility.
The landlord need to decide and pay for that.

Also, assuming everyone will have a traditional monogamous heterosexual relationship that they want want to validate in a way that's acceptable to monotheists? Nah.
Not assuming anything, I am not sure ironic is the right word in this context (english is not my language). I was more thinking about time, aging, getting wiser maybe and taking this bad meme for what it is on one hand, and on the other hand smiling in the inside about those differences at the same time annoying and adorable with the significant other.
That is why I enjoy the comments wars much more than the meme this time.

Made the mistake of using man and woman instead of top and bottom. See if you had referred instead to sexual preference as opposed to gender role this would be funny and relatable but instead it is cringe and icky. Check yourself liberal.
