This lady looks like ET never got to phone home and is pissed off about it and decided to don a crappy disguise and get into politics.

Being a "moderate" is just an act for her constituents.

If they say that bill might not pass, because Murkowski and Collins are likely to vote against ot, then i you can be certain that the bill will pass with a single vote, and the one who vote against it will be the one that has election sooner.

Because there's no accountability.

To be fair: it's all the Republicans casting the deciding vote. She doesn't have any special powers that makes her vote count more than the rest. The difference is that she's occasionally not-shitty and so she gets a lot of attention as a maybe.

Like: Rick Scott also cast these deciding votes, but everyone already expected that he'd be a shit so he doesn't get any flak for it.

Her vote as a US Senator counts more. That is exactly how representational government works ~~you doof~~ sorry.

[–] Mniot@programming.dev 6 points 3 hours ago

In what way, exactly, does her vote as a US senator count more than another US senator's vote?

Feel free to use simple language if you feel I need it.

I’m going to start editing my rude comments like this because it’s hilarious and I’m here for it.

Because she's okay with child diddlers.

Only if they either have over $1 billion in wealth or if they have an R next to their name.

Look at her. Does she look like a person at peace with herself and the world?

[–] Grimy@lemmy.world 8 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

She looks like a necromancer.

Or a victim of necromancy.

[–] Blackfeathr@lemmy.world 17 points 7 hours ago

I hope she is never at peace for the rest of her days, which I also hope are few.

[–] Lukaro@piefed.zip 16 points 7 hours ago

Um she is a republican what else would you expect her to do?

[–] DonkMagnum@lemy.lol 18 points 8 hours ago

Nah, they got kompromat on her. Bribery will get you some baubles but it's too voluntary and you can always get outbid. You gotta get coercive if you really want to own someone's soul.

[–] Ging@anarchist.nexus 7 points 7 hours ago

Gerontocracy functioning exactly as intended

[–] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 8 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Hopefully she will get Kirked.

[–] zd9@lemmy.world -5 points 6 hours ago (2 children)

Fuck off if you're a Russian shill or edgy teen. I want her to be humiliated out of a job, but Kirking out your opponents isn't a solution now.

[–] CannonFodder@lemmy.world 4 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Maybe Luigi'd ?

Look, in a perfect world we could discuss things rationally. But with a fascist government using unidentified police and the military against peaceful protests, and routinely ignoring the law, while clearly acting overtly corrupt and morally bankrupt, at some point people will react.

You'd think the billionaires in control would realize that their push to hoard more and more at the expense of the people will end with their or their decendent's heads on pikes. You'd think they'd do something to find a stable solution with themselves on top but not pushing everyone else so far down. But they don't seem to get it, so we're headed to a revolution at some point. Better get used to it.

[–] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 4 points 5 hours ago

We are far past the point where a bloodless Revolution is feasible. Liberals do not understand this. Conservatives absolutely do and have for decades.

[–] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 0 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Nah if you’re fine with saying Luigi’d but not “kirked” then you’re a hypocrite and not worth having a discussion with.

[–] zd9@lemmy.world 2 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

...who said I said that? I don't care what you call it, I'm talking about the action.

[–] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 2 points 3 hours ago

I have no problem with people who have caused untold amounts of death and suffering having death called upon them back. I do not understand why you would even argue that.

It's all about her ego and personal wealth/power. Her constituents are a means to those ends. She cares not for people she represents

[–] zd9@lemmy.world 3 points 6 hours ago

I don't want this to become a "who's gonna get Kirked next" kinda thing. It's sad where the US is as a country.

[–] jlow@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 5 hours ago

Is she very rich?
