Heading for 2014 prices. Couldn't have happened to a nicer set of folks. Can't wait for the mental gymnastics the UCP cult will try to use to justify how this will all go down.

Trudeau's fault, obviously.

no offense but I would stop talking about all the oil you have and how conveniently close it is.

But maybe they could abduct Danielle Smith. Silver lining there

There's slso the uncomfortable fact we don't refine most of it here...

...the USA does. Who we buy the refined products from.

Well we’ve got these here morons pushing for a referendum to leave Canada as “an independent state.” The big plan is to sell oil to the states and because we don’t have to pay equalization payments, we’ll be a rich non-woke wonderland.

My tinfoil hat theory is that if this happens, the US will refuse to buy oil from our “independent state” unless we become a “united state.”

AB produces a lot of tar...that can be refined into petroleum products. Venezuela makes crude easier and cheaper to refine.

[–] Lemmyoutofhere@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 months ago

Well, they are both heavy crude.

It isn't any easier and the infrastructure in Louisiana used to produce Venezuelan oil was abandoned decades ago.
