I think I aged out of it.
All bars in my area banned smoking even in outdoor patio areas. It sucks.

Aren't these everywhere? Where I grew up they were called taverns, but this basically every bar that isn't some scam for young people. Find yourself a dive bar and enjoy.

In Austin Texas there was (is?) a bar on 6th street called the Library that had books and those sliding ladders. In college my friend’s sister would go there all the time with their dad’s credit card and a fake ID. Their dad asked how in the world she could spend so much money at the library

you coukd design a room to help not have voices travel far or bounce around. maybe sound absorbing materials on the wall. have them play music with the volume down too

it's doable. make a bar that plays music but everyone has to listen to it with headphones. so if you wanna chat you just lower the volume. you'd pay extra for the headphones, but imo it's worth it. i'd love to be able to hear what people are saying and not have to scream at someone just so they can hear me
Will's Pub in Orlando is such a place. At least it was. I haven't been to Orlando in years.
Just get everyone to bring headphones that work as headsets and start a group call. You can get a decent pair for like $10
