I just got home from skiing vacation in the Dolomiti, Italy. After 3 lessons I was able to confidently go down a red slope without falling. I've never skied before, so I'm kinda proud of it :)

That's great!

My anxiety medication is working wonders, haven't had an anxiety or panic attacks in a week now and I'm also happy, which is reeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaalllll fucking weird.

[–] notreallyhere@lemmy.world 12 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I'm really glad to hear that, modern medicine can work wonders

[–] dumbass@piefed.social 8 points 3 days ago

Cheers, yeah it's great when it works, this time I should stick to it, because it was my decision to get on it instead of someone else getting me to. Got sick of having breakdowns all the time.

Oh man, I remember starting my anxiety meds! It's like night and day compared to before. If you're the kind that's hyper vigilant all the time, you'll find yourself losing that after a while. That actually led to a falling out with a friend funny enough.

I'm more of a procrastinator, so I'm hoping that starts disappearing, I'm starting to get there with that tho.

It looks like Mom will be ok. I'm in the ER with her now. She's snoozing in a morphine dream.

I'm finally back home on debian after reinstalling adventures went horribly wrong, and I ended up taking a holiday on Nobara and PikaOs for a week or so.

There are limits to heat management, and I confirmed what is feasable on those two OSes.

I do not enjoy fedora, the fancy bells and whistles of starship, and non mainstream package managers scare me, with all the NPM exploits.

I'm starting to worry about pip and using JS libraries.

My 11 year old dog still gets the zoomies.

This is her when she was younger (about 7 y/o). Don't have any recent ones I can post right now where I wouldn't have to blur out the background, etc. Blame the AI tools that let you feed pictures in and return a location. Grr...lol

My 12 year old son fell asleep on the couch last night and I was still able to pick him up and carry him up the stairs to bed.

[–] bandwidthcrisis@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

One day you'll pick up your son for the last time and neither of you will realize it.

I'm fact, he'll want you to one more time and you'll put your back out trying. Then you'll both know.

Our kids would linger in the var playing asleep hoping we'd carry then in for ages.

We loved it

I do IT for a company that actually makes the world better! (And I live in the Texas of Canada, so...)

[–] Postmortal_Pop@lemmy.world 12 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I started ADHD medicine recently and its so much better than before! Not only can I actually do tasks I don't want to do, I don't get overwhelmed by everything, and it didn't turn me into an absolute himbo like the last one!

[–] flambonkscious@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Holy crap that's fantastic!

Hoping you can really gather some momentum and have a great year with this.

[–] Postmortal_Pop@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

You and me both! It honestly feels like I've finally slotted in the missing piece of an engine I've been building my whole life. I feel like I can do things.

Nice! Get out there and smash it! (gently, though - no point overdoing it...)

[–] AndyMFK@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 2 days ago

I made a new friend last night. She's super fucking cool
