If the church is more queer friendly than your government, then it is time for revolution

These are Methodists, though. I think those folks already had their reckoning a few years ago, where the ones who didn't like the gays took their ball and went home. The remaining United Methodists are more tolerant than your average church.

As I was told long ago - what's the difference between a Methodist and Baptist preacher? The Methodist will talk to you in the liquor store.

Yep. For as much as I dislike religion in general, Methodists seem like a pretty decent group to me.
