"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"

A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

already laying the blame on us non-users for the crash that hasn't happened yet.

[–] ServantOfRa@lemmy.blahaj.zone 16 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Blame? No, but I'll gladly take my share of the credit.

“I did my part!”

Aka, shits going to crash. The places that have adopted don't have a guaranteed profit margin from it. Half the companies make no more money, and will have more pissed off customers.

However, Mr Nadella said he was confident that AI would prove to be transformative across industries, such as helping to develop new drugs.

It's kind of telling that he uses AI examples of a completely different field while his company is peddling LLMs exclusively. Chatbots can't help with drug development.

Good, I'm getting the popcorn ready for all the CEO crash-outs (caused by their poor choices) that are going to happen. All because they fed from a slop trough that they couldn't get a lot of people to eat from.
