Agreed. This lesson needs to be taught to the nth degree.
As a Canadian I'm still naively holding out for some kind of resolution that improves conditions for ordinary people on both sides of the border. Or at least stabilizes them.
One of the most sombering lessons is how innocence is the first casualty. In the worst case scenario, no one can keep their hands clean by this conflict's end.
As an American, I'm glad the US is suffering. Since 33% of our population is stupid/racist/homophobic/transphobic and just overall pieces of shit, the only way they will change is experiencing the consequences of exactly what they voted for. Thank you Canada for the find out phase at least 1/3 of us Americans deserve. I'm not happy about how financially fucked over I'm going to be, but I will take one for the team if it means putting a stop to Trump, American Imperialism, and fascism.
Those who did not put an x on the ballet also voted for this, because of how your system works (unlike Canada’s) those who put an x by the third party leader voted for this. In Canada we do not vote for our leader we vote for our riding, well if you want to be all technical we could vote for our leader if we paid whatever the price is and joined the party to vote for the parties leader. What I am saying is in the US how your system works third party votes are throw away votes in Canada they are not.

People are still getting detained for what appears to be arbitrary reasons related to their skin colour, and these detentions have led to violent incidents carried out by agents of the state. Even if you survive the initial arrest, the detention centres also appear to be lawless. Detainees are subject to additional violence or sexual violence, and the conditions are inhumane.
Vegas offers to be a honey pot for a conflict zone. Any sane person would rather visit another civilization.
If you miss us so much, come visit us and spend your money in Canada.

Haven't been to the US since Bush Jr. My kids have never been there and we encourage them to stay away, espcially the past decade or so. They do.
