God what a waste of breath some scumbags are

[–] thagoat@lemmy.ml 311 points 1 week ago (5 children)

Kyle Rittenhouse took an assault rifle to a state he didn't live in and shot 3 people, killing 2. He was acquitted on all counts. The is no way to measure the hypocrisy. It's simply mind boggling.

[–] AnyOldName3@lemmy.world 91 points 1 week ago (28 children)

He was charged with (effectively) taking a sawn-off shotgun across state lines, which he didn't do as it was a full-size rifle, and second degree murder, which requires homicide while committing another crime, but the other charge fell through, so there was no other crime. He probably would have been found guilty of something if he'd been charged with crimes he did rather than ones he didn't, but the prosecutor fucked up, whether by incompetence or because they wanted to ensure he got off after nominally going through a trial so justice could be claimed to have been done.

[–] RickyRigatoni@retrolemmy.com 25 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Doesn't this mean they can still charge him with the crimes he actually did commit?

[–] AnyOldName3@lemmy.world 21 points 1 week ago

In theory. I won't be holding my breath, though.

It's not hypocrisy. The right killing the left is always justified in their mind, they have never claimed otherwise. It's quite consistent really.

The reality is they're too illiterate to properly explain themselves and their cult leaders aren't offering the words for it on this one.

Idk the authenticity of that but "he dressed up at a party once so the state should be able to murder him" is a pretty pathological take

Where's the Rudy in drag response?

[–] Goldmage263@sh.itjust.works 50 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He has sleeve tatoos in the drag version. Take that as you will.

I dressed up as Marilyn Monroe one Halloween as a teen. The costume had the most ridiculous padding on the butt and chest, it was clearly a silly costume and not any sort of statement. The amount of vitriol I faced was eye opening for me. I’m honestly glad I did it because it showed me how people treat those that make them feel uncomfortable. I thought, “if this is how they treat me on Halloween I can’t imagine what other people go through every day” and this was well before trans people were made the boogeyman of the week.

Guess I deserve to die now? Eat a fuckin dick, Bob.

[–] SayJess@lemmy.blahaj.zone 34 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah, I avoided coming out for years because I didn’t think I could handle cishet people looking at me and laughing, or their insults. It’s still difficult.

[–] NOT_RICK@lemmy.world 21 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I’m really sorry you have do deal with that simply to feel true to yourself.

Literally not even the same person. The guy on the right has neck tattoos, also he's got tattoos on his arms and pretti didn't.

[–] Denjin@feddit.uk 49 points 1 week ago

Their face is also completely different. They don't even look similar, like at all.

[–] Flax_vert@feddit.uk 69 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Doesn't America not have a culture of carrying firearms with you, especially to protests? Also imagine the media using a picture of you at a drunken party or something if you tragically died.

As a general rule of thumb, real estate agents are terrible people.

Real estate agents are largely an unproductive group of parasites. They are also professional shit take machines.

[–] REDACTED@infosec.pub 2 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

It's so far worse than just your typical parasites, they're largely attributed to the entire housing crisis in west. Even in my small country, I noticed many people no longer wanted to work, make businesses, etc., they went to some rich country to work for some time, came back to buy apartments and rent them out, but the problem is that they're all pushing for higher rent prices than what is acceptable, and since they all do it, then people are essentially left with no choice and you see your rent proces doubling, tripling in the span of a 10 years.

What's ironic is that these people commonly speak out against capitalism and favor socialism

It gets even worse when they put these apartments on temporary rentals (Airbnb), so most of them stay empty for majority of time

I'm doomscrolling his linkedin page and it's non-stop idiotic garbage. I stopped at the GDP chart explaining why Alberta shouldn't be "trapped" in Canada.

About the not bringing a gun to a protest, it reminds of the way they would say "did you see what she was wearing" about a rape victim.

"you don't bring a gun to a peaceful protest, just saying"

Is literally the line they're being fed to repeat. I keep seeing it everywhere.

Baa baa conservative sheep...

I wonder what this guy thinks about Kyle Rittenhouse.

[–] JustJack23@slrpnk.net 33 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Is the argument really "if he wanted to live he wouldn't have brought a firearm". Sounds like "if she didn't want to get raped she should dress properly"

@slaacaa it's telling that this is what they criticise, and not the actual violence and murder.

[–] BetaBlake@lemmy.world 31 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah that's obviously not the same person, his family should sue this dude.

If he's even real

I don't use LinkedIn besides to update my profile.

Did LinkedIn become a shithole? Because WTF is this shit?

[–] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 22 points 1 week ago

Friend, it's conservative social media with a puritan toxic-positivity red-scare made by big tech. It has always been a shithole, and at this point, it's a malicious conservative spam platform that hacks any information that passes through it.
