No wonder they started wars over spices.

Even better, butter the outside too and fry the toast in it. Melts in your mouth! Makes a lot of smoke in the kitchen, but melts in your mouth.

I used to eat potato chip and bologna sandwiches. Thats as weird as I got

[–] Pacattack57@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

I still do this. I save easily $200/month eating it 3 days a week. Pro tip: the bread and bologna at Aldis is S tier and with the right addons and seasonings it’s a fantastic light meal.

Yeah because nobody eats that.

I feel like this would be pretty good. Toast is pretty good. So you just make some good toast and then you sandwich it between some fresh soft bread. And then you have this soft outside with a crunchy buttery caramelized toast inside, I think it could be good if you were craving some toast and wanted to jazz it up.

People eat this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crisp_sandwich

It's essentially the same.

They even have it pre-made.

Carbs are good for a hangover if anyone wonders why most British foods are full of carbs.

Place of Origin: United Kingdom

Yeah, that checks out

Okay but that does sound kinda nice

How I approach unfamiliar things is extra amusing here.

“What problem does this solve?”

UK cuisine was invented during World War 2 when all they had were 3 slices of bread

That’s why they have the worst food in the world

That says it’s from the 19th century. What American food from then wasn’t garbage?

Uh, your average breakfast in the U.S. was basically a shitload of protein and potatoes in the 19th century. Idk about you but I definitely like pork, oatmeal, fried potatoes, eggs — with a couple pieces of toast that's all I need in current year.
