I saw someone holding an independence sign while running my errands this past weekend. Wanted to stop and give them a piece of my mind, but decided the time was better spent doing literally anything else.

Well, yeah. That's a big part of how the US does regime change. Regime change operations pretty much are routine for them.

Why do I feel like this is bigger news OUTSIDE of Canada than it actually is IN Canada. like on Canadian news I hear jack shit about this but all these American "journalists" and posters keep posting this crap when the majority of people IN Alberta are all "nah, we're good".

No, the majority of Albertans think separation is dumb as fuck.

The people doing the petitions got busted using AI to juice their line-ups. One had a huge lineup that went right past the door of the building to sign.
