Why does this read like they wanna make the Boy Scouts some kind of Hitler Youth program?
because they want to make it a Hitler Youth program.
I would prefer they just dont fuck with things, its already on the edge of a Christian Nationalist organization. I am so glad my troop is not crazy and they chuckle when I substitute "with liberty and justice for some" when doing the pledge.
You should also omit “under god”, since it was only added towards the beginning of the Cold War to “differentiate us from the godless communists”.
I have talked to people in the US who legit believe the BSA is "too woke". This is the same organization that banned gay people from being members until middle of last decade, by the way.
Meanwhile Scouting Canada officially went co-ed in the 90's and accepted gay members in the 00's.
Not only that but in 2000 Scout Quebec organize a big Jam on the Plaine d’Abrahams. They were scout from everywhere in the Americas … Boy Scout US ghost the organizers and didn’t want to come on some stupid reason

I guess they want the scouts to go back to that?
