I remember using the online version in the pre-Wikipedia days — back when there wasn’t just one site to look up everything, it was a good knowledge base for looking up info about countries, like size and population. I’m the early days of Wikipedia in pretty sure all the pictures used for the article of each country were the pictures published by the World Factbook.
