Of course it is. Just because they can steal anything they want doesn't mean that's what everyday people wanna interact with. Pretty much everyone I know in my personal life feels extremely disappointed in themselves when they get tricked into thinking something isn't AI when it was. People naturally gravitate towards things that were made by humans, at least for the time being. Now is specifically not the time to give up because these companies are trying their hardest to normalize it.
These people making AI images, music, videos, books, podcasts, and literally everything are basically doing everything they do for selfish reasons. Their audience isn't other people, it's themselves. Ask any AI artist or AI musician who they are making it for and the majority will either say themselves or they are doing it exclusively to make money in some way. These people are not artists or writers. They're opportunists.
And even if you can't defend it from being stolen that doesn't mean we should stop making things. Just because they've stolen from us doesn't necessarily mean that people will actually want what they are creating with it.
