What a bunch of hypocritical cunts.

If it weren't for double standards, the gop would have no standards

Gaslight Obstruct Project

Fascists don't believe, like the left, that there are principles that should be applied equally to everyone. Their starting point is "everything for me" and the rest falls out of that. So they don't see it as hypocritical to approve of something when they do it but disapprove of the exact same thing when someone else does it. It's simply that it's only good when it's done by and for them. It looks like hypocrisy to anyone trying sincerely to live a moral life for the good of all, but that just isn't the game the fascists are playing. People are not equal for them. They're the only ones that count, and that's axiomatic, not something they need to give a reason for.

So I always feel that accusing the right of hypocrisy misses the depth of their amorality and the ruthlessness of their selfishness. Their whole world view is just them in the centre, taking everything, with no need to consider others except as a temporary impediment to be used and/or disposed of.

Mehdi Hasan's recent "debate" with Nazis on Jubilee made that quite clear. There was nothing to talk about, because the Nazis' only principle is that everything goes their way, and they'll do and say whatever it takes to bring that about.

You can't overcome a fascist by pointing out that they're being unreasonable or illogical or hypocritical. They enjoy being that way because it makes others suffer and they get off on that. You can't stop them running concentration camps by pointing out that their processes are unfair. They love killing people for no reason; it makes them feel strong.

Except in very rare cases there's nothing you can say to stop fascists. They have opted out of all that. The only way is to crush them so they have no more power to enjoy and no prospect of things ever going their way, and you have to crush them again each time they try to get back up off the ground.

Amen. And this is why Liberals, and the manufactured opposition of the Democrat party, have enabled the collapse of America. Even now, in the final hour, as the fascist coup is succeeding and almost complete, they continue to pretend as though another "gotcha" or "slam" will win. The mentally ill cult doesn't care, and never has. Once the coup is complete, they will murder you and all who oppose them. They will overthrow other governments, murder millions or even billions of innocent people. They do not care, and never will. If they were capable of caring, they already would.

They wouldn’t be republicans if they weren’t hypocrites.

[–] Furbag@lemmy.world 7 points 21 hours ago

Of course, hypocrisy is the modus operandi of the Republican party. They are just upset that we are finally starting to fight fire with fire, not because of what we are actually doing.

If we do the same bad behavior that we've let the Republicans get away with for decades, their only recourse is to do what we have been unable to do and actually legislate some rules into place that bind everybody equally. I'm honestly fine with either path at this point, either everybody gerrymanders the fuck out their their districts, or nobody does.

If this is what it takes to finally get some change in motion, I'm all for breaking every political norm in the book, and then setting the book on fire.

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 12 points 1 day ago

Do principles even exist anymore? Money and power and blind obedience to your human gods seem to be the only way forward in this ever smaller world. Fuck that hypocrite!

[–] SulaymanF@lemmy.world 36 points 1 day ago

All year long Mike Johnson has been a hypocrite. On like every issue out there. He got angry about Hunter Biden but claims the Trump family shouldn’t be investigated. He championed states rights but the opposite when Trump infringes on them. He fights California but defends Texas.

The man has no conscience.

That's what a traitor to America would do.

[–] AlecSadler@lemmy.blahaj.zone 23 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Mike Johnson can suck a dick.

[–] AlternatePersonMan@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Mike Johnson probably has sucked a dick.

[–] SolarMyth@aussie.zone 10 points 1 day ago

I wonder how many little boys he's raped?

[–] turdburglar@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

not that there’s anything wrong with that…

  • george and jerry

also, fuck mike johnson.

[–] BaroqueBobby@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Mike Johnson is so far in the closet that he’s outside the door.

[–] Akasazh@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

A metric ton of them

[–] cannon_annon88@lemmy.today 39 points 1 day ago (1 children)

And Republicans will see nothing wrong with this, because the woke mind virus must be defeated by any means necessary. And when it's defeated, and only then, we can hAve our freedoms back. It's just a little sacrifice, for the greater good is all.

Me, a Californian:

We’re an incredibly powerful state and we won’t be bullied. We’ll just leave if it comes to it.

California has left the chat

I really don’t think they understand how much those of us in California aren’t happy about this political shit-show.

[–] zd9@lemmy.world 27 points 1 day ago (1 children)

California alone has the fourth largest GDP of any country in the world. Don't fuck with California.

We also have about the same population as Canada if not a bit more but unlike Canada we don't have a temperate climate. If shit went to war it'd be like an even more hellish version of Iraq and Afghanistan.

[–] WoodScientist@lemmy.world 30 points 1 day ago

Mike Johnson deserves to be tied to a millstone and thrown into the ocean. As a man who masturbates to the Bible, he would appreciate that method at least.

[–] fedupwithbureaucracy@lemmy.world 3 points 21 hours ago

Surround him and get him to admit that he doesnmt actually care instead of getting to take a stupid fucking half measure

Feels that guillotines are getting closer and closer.

[–] MuskyMelon@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

Can't wait for Gavin to unleash his fury on this hypocrite.

[–] LordCrom@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago

So ... Hypocrisy.

Standard fare for GOP

[–] LadyMeow@lemmy.blahaj.zone 17 points 1 day ago

Wow a spineless piece of shit is … still a spineless piece of shit. Fuck these people.

[–] TommySoda@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago

The reason he says this kinda shit is for the base because they don't read news from "left" sources. So to the people that only watch Fox news and the like they will only see what California is doing but not Texas (or think that Texas is doing it in response to California). They basically take the left's talking points as pointers and twist it into their own because they know republican voters will never fact check them and take everything at face value with no further thought.

[–] MehBlah@lemmy.world 1 points 20 hours ago

Standard issue hypocrit. With a healthy side of sociopath like all upper republicans. The kind all the lower republicans worship.

[–] Nico_198X@europe.pub 5 points 1 day ago

what a stupid country.

How could he possibly have the time when he is hyper addicted to his teenage son’s porn playlist?

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Not surprised this is coming from an anti gay gay man.

[–] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

All said, with a completely straight face.

[–] turdburglar@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

not sure how straight anything about this guy is… every accusation is an admission.

again, not that there’s anything wrong with that
